Slovak legal metrology, n.o. is the authorized body No SKTC 177 and Notified body No 1432 for the field of the products conformity assessment in accordance with:


  • SR Government Ordinance No 145/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of measuring instruments via which the European Parliament and Council Directive 2014/32/EU of 26. February 2014 concerning the harmonisation of the Member States legal rules relating to the making available on the market of the measuring instruments was transposed into the law of the Slovak Republic (MID directive);
  • SR Government Ordinance No 126/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the non- automatic weighing instruments via which the European Parliament and Council Directive 2014/31/EU of 26. February 2014 concerning the harmonisation the Member States legal rules relating to the making available on the market of the non-automatic weighing instruments was transposed into the law of the Slovak Republic (NAWID directive).

Slovak legal metrology, n.o. assures its activities concerning the products conformity assesment by the Products certification body of SLM.


Authorization


Slovak Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing as the central body for the state administration in the field of the conformity assessment according to the Act No 575/2001 Z Coll. on organizing the government activities and on the central state administration organization as later amended appropriate according to the stipulation of § 3 , par. 1, g), § 11 par. 1, 5 and 8 and § 34 of Act No 264/1999 Coll. on technical requirements on products and on the conformity assessment as later amended by som acts, and as the administration body appropriated according to § 1, par. 2, § 5 and § 46 of Act No 71/1967 Coll,. on the administration action as later amended, isssued its Decision on authorization No 2016/800/003076/00955 on 18.04.2016, by which Slovak legal metrology, n.o. (SKTC 177, NO 1432) was authorized for the SR Government Ordinance No 126/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the non-automatic weighing instruments, and for the SR Government Ordinance No 145/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the measuring instruments with effect from 20.04.2016 and valid till 23.05.2020.

Notification


Slovak legal metrology, n.o. is the notified body, notified by the Slovak Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing to European Committee and to Member States on April 2016 as the body entrusted for the products conformity assessment in accordance with the new European Parliament and Council directives 2014/31/EU and 2014/32/EU. European Committee registered the Slovak legal metrology, n.o. as the notified body into the list of the notified bodies (the information system of the European Committee NANDO), under the identification number 1432.

Accreditation


The competency of the Slovak legal metrology,n.o. as the Products certification body for the field of the products conformity assessment according to the new SR Governemt Ordinance No 126/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the non-automatic weighing instruments and according the SR Government Ordinance No 145/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the measuring instruments was upon the fulfilment of the ISO/IEC 17065: 2012 requirements confirmed by the Certificate on accreditation No P-017, issued by Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS) with validity till 23.05.2020.

Within the implementation of the EU new legal framework, the current European Directive 2004/22/EC for measuring instruments (MID) and the Directive 2009/23/EC for the non-automatic weighing instruments (NAWI) were superseded by the new European Directives 2014/31/EU and 2014/32/EU on the 20th April 2016. These directives were transposed into the law of the Slovak Republic by the new SR Government Ordinance No 126/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the non-automatic weighing instruments and by the Ordinance No 145/2016 Coll. on making available on the market of the measuring instruments.
